Kandy Dishwashers have earned the trust of users with their simplicity and reliability. Therefore, in the event of a malfunction, repairs can be carried out independently. Breakdowns are different, so you need to diagnose the equipment.
Candy dishwasher error codes are compiled and described in detail in a separate article.
Causes of Candy Dishwasher Breakdown
The easiest way to determine the cause of the failure is by the error code on the display. If the self-diagnosis system displays a code, its decryption will help to find the malfunction.
After switching on, do the indicators blink randomly on the panel? There may have been a system failure - restart the technique. How to reset the system:
- Unplug the machine.
- Wait 15-20 minutes.
- Connect the power cord.
Did the blinking disappear? So there’s nothing to worry about. If the indicators blink again, the cause may be in the control module.
Typical PMM Candy Breakdowns:
- The most common problem is a blockage. Poor cleaning of the dishes from food debris leads to clogging of the filter, pump or pipe. The problem is easily fixed by yourself.
- Water leakage in the area of the bunker door, most often brings a sealant. As users notice, after a year of work it has to be changed. It’s good that this is simple and without help.
- The dishwasher does not work or freezes on the installation of the program - a malfunction in the electronic module. You may notice that the equipment washes dishes for a long time or the cycle does not end. We will tell you how to replace the module, but it is better to entrust its repair to a specialist.
- Water does not drain after the end of the program. So, you need to check the drain path. You need to start with the filter, pump, drain pipe. If the dishwasher does not draw water into the tank, you need to check the intake system: hose, filter, inlet valve.
- If the PMM engine does not turn on and the washing does not start, check the door closure for tightness. If the hopper door is not completely closed, the cycle will not start. It also checks the wiring, fuses on the shield and control board.
- When turning off the machine or knocking the meter, it is worth checking the heater for a short circuit and a breakdown in the housing.
Why the equipment breaks, we figured it out. Let’s figure out how to repair your own Kandy dishwasher.
How to repair a dishwasher with your own hands
Repair will begin by eliminating simple malfunctions.
Blockage in PMM
If the water does not leave well not only in the dishwasher, but also in the rest of the sewage system, clean the siphon. In the case of a direct connection to the sewer, break the blockage in the pipes with special means.
Before disassembling the machine, click on the "Drain" button.
Perform further verification:
- Inspect the drain and inlet hose. Maybe they were pinched or twisted.
- If water does not enter the tank, check the shut-off valve; it may be closed.
- Disconnect the inlet hose from the PMM body. Clean it under running water.
- Clean the inlet filter from clogging and also check the filler valve.
Then open the hopper door:
- Below is a drain filter. Pull it out of the case and remove the blockage.
- Remove residual water in the hole with a sponge.
- To check the impeller of the pump, remove the cover.
- To do this, press down the cover, and then pull it up.
- Wear gloves to clear the impeller.
- Inspect the drain hose and clean if necessary.
Door Problem Solving
Broken door or broken seal? Then we will tell you how to carry out repairs.
Replacing side seals:
- Open the door.
- Remove the old seal around the door.
- Install a new gasket in the same way as the previous seal.
When loading the machine, the door does not close, although you press it tight enough. Check and replace the door lock.
How to repair:
- Open the door and remove the screws around the perimeter.
- Remove the control panel by disconnecting the connectors.
- On the inside of the panel is a locking device.
- Remove the two screws that hold it.
- Disconnect the wiring, install a new element.
When the door locks normally, but it is hard to open and close, the problem lies in the hinges. They can be damaged if the open door is pressed hard or an additional cabinet facade is attached to it.
Hinge replacement:
- Remove the top panel of the dishwasher by unscrewing the two screws on the back.
- Having unscrewed bolts, remove the bottom front panel, and then the side cover.
- With access to the loop, remove its spring from the hook.
- Remove the lock washer, and disconnect the hinge from the housing.
Installing a new part proceeds in reverse order. The main thing - do not mix the left and right loops, because they are different.
Spray Repair
Do you hear noise while the dishwasher is operating? The rocker probably clings to the edges of the dishes. Check and install the dishes correctly or replace the nozzles on the sprayer:
- Remove the sprinkler from the PMM housing.
- If the nozzle base is cracked and is no longer suitable for work, you need to pull it out.
- Squeeze it with pliers and remove from the connector.
- Place a new base, crushing it on top.
- To install a new nozzle, cut a hole in the base with a knife.
- Install the nozzle in the base until the latches snap shut.
Solving module problems
If a control module malfunctions, the Kandy dishwasher may not turn on. How to enable and run PMM? Replacing the main unit will help; repairing the board yourself is not recommended.
- Remove the six screws on the inside of the door that hold the control panel.
- Lift the door and detach the control panel.
- Hang the panel on the case.
- To get the module, disconnect the black wire from the sensor.
- Remove the screws that secure the module to the panel.
- Disconnect the board wiring. Some wires are held in place by snaps. Pre-squeeze them so as not to damage the wires.
- Install the new module in the reverse order.
Replacing the heater relay
With a sharp voltage jump, the relay on the board that controls the heater could burn out. If you decide to do it yourself, be careful. The electronic module is expensive, in some cases it needs a complete replacement, otherwise the heater will not work.
How to replace:
- Remove the unit from the panel as described above.
- Remove the control board by loosening the module latches.
- Pay attention to the burnt parts.
- Solder the relay contacts.
- Having soldered legs (contacts), remove the relay. Depending on the model, the legs can be from 3 to 4 pieces.
- Buy a new relay by the serial number of the old one.
- Solder in a new relay.
Now you have an idea about the breakdowns of the Kandy dishwasher. Perform self-repair or call the master - you decide. In most cases, malfunctions do not require the intervention of specialists. You can remove the blockage or replace the hose yourself.
