Step-by-step assembly process
The base is made of plywood sheet by cutting a rectangle of 400 x 500 mm. Then make mounts for the stand of the electric plane. All parts of the structure are assembled together with screws. Then proceed to the installation of the main element of the unit - a work console with an electric plane.
A platform for the cutting mechanism is being built. A technological hole is formed in its center with a jigsaw, exactly repeating the shape of a planer. The electric plane is fixed with clamps and screws.
A lifting mechanism is assembled from threaded screws and drive sprockets.To do this, long screws with large threads are placed in the corners. Using screws fix the depth of planing.
The platform is mounted on stands. All connections are fixed with screws. The layout of the electrical cable is determined. It should not be damaged during the processing of wood.
The homemade tool is equipped with a handle for adjusting the platform in height. To do this, use a long threaded screw. The resulting surface gage is tightened with nuts and washers. To prevent the plane from falling from its seat, one of the screws is drilled through. This provides a tight nut clamp.
The final stage is the assembly of the machine, the installation of the measuring bar and indicator. As a measuring bar, which allows to determine the thickness of the lumber, a ruler is usually used.
